Vele pronte

Inspired by the Italian artist, the artwork "Vele Pronte" is displayed on the main wall. Artist
Neil Stokoe
Superior

Title of the exhibited painting
Due figure in un paesaggio notturno

Neil Stokoe worked alongside contemporaries such as David Hockney and Frank Bowling during the ‘golden years’ of the Royal College of Art in the early 1960s, yet he never saw the success of his peers in his own lifetime. Despite the encouragement of his close friend Francis Bacon, Neil Stokoe largely avoided the London art scene and worked in relative obscurity throughout his life. He exhibited his work for the first time after retiring in 2002 and maintained a reclusive lifestyle, pursuing his art in his south-west London studio.

Artist
Gianni Moramarco

Title of the exhibited painting
L’essenziale

"I move within a pictorial mechanism made of irony, candor, craftsmanship, canceling the rules and invading the boundaries of the painting, as if driven by an unstoppable impulse to dispel reality by reinterpreting it with the canon of his artistic language."
Gianni Moramarco

The main wall has a piece by the artist entitled "l’essenziale". The context in which the painting develops is a submarine base in France, built during the Second World War. The base, now renamed Bassins de Lumières. The enormous bunker is located in Bordeaux, and was used for several years during the war to house a fleet of German and Italian submarines

Artist
Stanton Macdonald Wright
Classic

Title of the exhibited painting
Sincronia n.3

"I strive to have my art have the same relationship to painting that polyphony has to music. Illustrative music is a thing of the past: it has become abstract and purely aesthetic, dependent for its effect on rhythm and form."
Stanton Macdonald-Wright

Stanton Macdonald-Wright (Charlottesville, July 8, 1890 – Pacific Palisades, August 22, 1973) was an American painter who founded Sycronism with Morgan Russell.
